Congratulations to the winners of Kingston’s International Youth Arts Festival Best of Brighton Fringe Awards in Children and Families, Comedy and Theatre.
They are: The Starship Osiris from Willis & Vere (Comedy); Mine from Put The Book Down (Theatre); and The Tale of The Cockatrice by Mumblecrust Theatre. (Children & Family).
Every May our festival Press Team, made up of young trainee journalists, head to the Brighton Fringe to review the best youth productions across three categories. The winning productions are all invited to perform at Kingston’s International Youth Arts Festival.
Andy Currums said: “The quality of applications was excellent and our winners are fantastic. Our partnership with Brighton Fringe is going from strength to strength and it’s great to be able to bring even more quality shows to Kingston. These companies are very worthy winners and I urge people to go along to the shows and find out why.”
The Starship Osiris
Despite a cast that despise him, the arrogant actor, writer and director George Vere endeavours to bring you his debut sci-fi masterpiece.
A mother waits for her son to come home from a night out. Then the police arrive. And everything changes.
The Tale of Cockatrice
Deep in the vaults of an ancient priory a hideous creature awakens.
