Kingston’s International Youth Arts Festival has kicked off with a bang, attracting visitors from across the world to experience 10 days of theatre, music, dance, circus, comedy, visual arts and some strange and wonderful pop-up events.
Record sunshine on the opening weekend boosted the outdoor audience as performers sang, drummed, strummed and cartwheeled from Kingston Bridge and Clarence Street to the Visit Kingston market place stage.
Both debut artists and fringe regulars have been give a warm welcome at the Rose Theatre and ACT Theatre – with a healthy dose of spontaneous standing ovations.
