INTERNATIONAL YOUTH ARTS FILM FESTIVAL
New call out for 2021
Submit your films for the International Youth Arts Film Festival this July
We’re thrilled to announce that applications for International Youth Arts Film Festival, celebrating the work of young film makers is now open!
It has been a difficult year for so many and we can’t wait to experience the energy, inspiration and hope which young people and our festival audiences bring to Kingston once again. Sharing the creative talents of young people is more important than ever before.
Across the globe there are many film festivals throughout the year, but few who have a true focus on young emerging film makers. International Youth Arts Film Festival is here to provide an affordable platform for young film makers to get one of their first experiences of a film festival. There is the opportunity to showcase your films to an audience in the historic venue of Rose Theatre, have your films watched by an industry panel and enter our awards.
There are 3 categories available to apply to:
International Film Category
Non-UK applicant filmmakers with any film that is 15 minutes and under
Films under 5-minutes
These films must be 5 minutes and under
Short Film Category
These films must be between 10-15 minutes in length
At least one member of the creative team in each application must be under 27. This applies to all categories.
Application deadline: Monday 5 April 2021, 5pm
All applicants will have a response to their application by the end of April 2021.
A selection of finalists will be chosen from each category by an industry panel. The finalists will be put forwards for our Film Awards. Each finalist’s film will be screened throughout the day in our 900-seat auditorium at The Rose Theatre, where you get the opportunity to see your film on the big screen. Then in the evening, the red carpet is rolled out for the award ceremony, where the announcements of the winner of each category will be revealed by some special guests.
There is a £20.00 registration fee per successful film application which contributes to the administrative costs of managing your application, inclusion in the brochure and promotion of the Film Festival as a whole. Finalists will be asked to pay the £20.00 registration fee on finalising their application in Eventotron.
Please contact Tom, the Festival Programme Manager if you have any questions at email@example.com. If you have any access requirements, please get in touch to discuss an alternative application process.
This is a new venture, and we will also be looking for opportunities to showcase our award-winners at additional events.
Due to the on-going COVID-19 situation, we ask that all companies work collaboratively with IYAF to adapt to the changing government guidelines and situation.
Established in 2009, the 10-day festival hosts around 200 events across venues and spaces around Kingston upon Thames every July. Anyone and everyone is welcome to apply.
International Youth Arts Festival aims to provide a supportive environment for artists at every stage of their creative journey, from experienced performers to those putting on their first show.
The Film Festival will form part of IYAF, and you’ll be part of the excitement of the wider festival; and can network with the vast range of performers who come to Kingston.
